Learn what a transformative therapeutic experience can be...
INTRODUCTION
My mission is to help those impacted by trauma to re-establish a sense of stability by providing them with the latest evidenced-based tools as they reclaim and rebuild thriving lives. I provide individual and couples psychotherapy, as well as coaching to adults. I specialize in developmental trauma, partner betrayal trauma, couple’s reintegration therapy (post sex addiction/problematic sexual behaviors or relationship ruptures), and sexual issues.
BACKGROUND & EDUCATION
From 2006-2012, I had a thriving executive coaching practice, facilitated by a Master’s EMBA Certificate in Executive Coaching and Organizational Behavior from The University of Texas at Dallas. I worked exclusively with entrepreneurs on focused issues common to this population.
To support my observations of how people change, I pursued a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology in 2012 at Texas A&M University at Commerce. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Sexology, along with certification as an AASECT Sex Therapist (CST). Currently with this training and supervision, I am able to work with diverse clientele on sexual issues related to intimacy, desire, arousal, and sexually-based pain.
I have received advanced training in the treatment of Trauma, PTSD, and Dissociation through the Justice Resource Institute in Boston, MA, under the direction of Bessel Van der Kolk and Joseph Spinazzola. Additionally, I am a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT) through The International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), which qualifies me to work with betrayal wounds in couple relationships.
Within my work, I have adopted the therapeutic model of trauma recovery from Pia Mellody at The Meadows, as I witnessed firsthand how her Model of Developmental Immaturity has successfully and thoroughly addressed all forms of developmental trauma. I have been trained in Post Induction Therapy (PIT), a method to treat developmental immaturity through inner child and feeling reduction work. This method is used in workshops at The Meadows in Wickenburg, AZ, commonly known as the “Survivors Week.”. I have done specialized training with Dr. Ken Adams, focused on treating parent and adult child enmeshment issues.
Trauma resolution modalities I have been trained in and use for my clients’ best care include brainspotting for individuals and couples as well as EMDR.
PERSONAL FOCUS
Through my years I spent healing my own wounds, I grew a passion for helping those who have experienced trauma. I believe there is recovery from trauma and that those affected can live fulfilling and satisfying lives. It is my desire to meet my clients where they are, develop a roadmap for their recovery and facilitate a healing relationship with them as they walk their journey to their fullest healing.
